Singer Asake has released a statement in response to the alleged crowd crush at his concert last night, which left four fans battling for their lives. Emergency services arrived at the O2 Academy Brixton on Thursday in response to complaints of crowd disturbances. A number of "people with injuries thought to have been caused by crushing," according to the Metropolitan Police, were discovered before Asake's final scheduled performance in the United Kingdom. Four of them are currently in a serious state.
The Metropolitan Police report that eight people have been hospitalized, with four in a severe condition. It was done following the discovery of a number of people with injuries believed to have been caused by crushing prior to Asake's final scheduled performance in the United Kingdom.
In a statement on Instagram, singer-songwriter Asake said, "My heart is with those who were injured last night and caused any form of discomfort. I pray you get well soonest. I am also in the process of reaching out to individuals."
"I still do not have the full brief from the venue management themselves as to what led to the disruption at the entrance of The Brixton Academy, but we are thankful that it was all peaceful at the end," the statement added.
