Dave Myers was confirmed to have cancer in May this year; the English chef has been tight-lipped about the type of tumor he is fighting. In an interview with The One Show in October, King described his pal as a "tough old boot" who'd been "in the trenches" of cancer treatment. Despite Myers' arduous chemotherapy sessions, King stated that his co-star was getting "stronger every day."
What has Dave Myers said about his age?

Myers provided an update on his health within the same month as King did. Myers claims he'll know he's made it when given the all-clear from "this bloody cancer." He remarked that it would be truly life-changing and affirming. And that life won't be the same again.

Myers stated that the prognosis was okay at the time, and he was "going to be OK." Cancer therapies are far more sophisticated today compared to how they were decades ago.
