Michael Clarke breaks silence on topless Noosa incident amid sad daughter reveal

Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke has made his first public statement regarding the highly publicised Noosa incident, where he was involved in an embarrassing public altercation with his on-off girlfriend, Jade Yarbrough. The incident, which occurred back in January and was captured on camera by a bystander, had left Clarke facing public scrutiny.

In the footage, Clarke and Yarbrough were seen engaged in a heated argument in a park in front of onlookers at a Queensland resort town. Complicating matters further, Jade's sister and brother-in-law, Jasmine and Karl Stefanovic, were present during the incident and got drawn into the public dispute.

Clarke opened up about the incident on "A Current Affair" and expressed that the past year has been filled with valuable "lessons" for him to reflect upon.


"I call them lessons. I call so many things, you know, you wish that … I think relationships are tough, a lot happens behind closed doors, and a lot of things happen that we all deal with," Clarke said. "I've dealt with a divorce, you know, man, I've been through and it's so sad, so hard."

He continued, and said, the need to do one's best in the face of life's ups and downs. "I think the one thing is you just got to do your best, good times, tough times, highs, lows, pros, cons; I'm like everyone else – still to this day, I'm standing here trying my best, and I hope that doesn't change."

One of the lessons Clarke highlighted was the importance of enjoying life in "moderation" to avoid similar incidents in the future. He acknowledged his penchant for a good time but stressed the need for balance and moderation in all aspects of life.

The incident not only affected Clarke but also had a significant impact on his seven-year-old daughter, Kelsey Lee. She has become aware of the paparazzi and is dealing with an unusual level of media attention for someone her age.

Earlier this year, Clarke issued a public apology for his role in the altercation, taking full responsibility for the incident and expressing deep regret. He acknowledged that his actions had put people he deeply respects in an unfortunate position and described his behavior in the lead-up to the altercation as "shameful and regrettable."
