A 13-year-old girl lost her life due to a falling tree on her campsite in Corsica. A 46-year-old man also lost his life due to a falling tree on his campsite bungalow in Calvi. Scientists linked the raging forest fires, drought, and extreme heat to human-linked activities. There were three days of heavy rain, and officials ordered the evacuation of Corsica campsites. There were many SOS calls from wrecked ships and grounded vessels, along with dozens of other vessels requesting emergency help. The body of an unidentified kayaker was found on Corsica's east coast, and a fisher (62 years old) was also found dead on Corsica's west coast. Both died from a storm, and over 100 stranded, wrecked, or grounded ships called for help.

The island authorities in Corsica said there was no electricity in around 45,000 homes, and took a minimum of 12 people to the hospital after being injured. Emmanuel Macron, the France President, called for a video call emergency meeting to respond to the ongoing crisis.
