Darius Danesh Campbell died at the age of 41 in Minnesota last month. The cause of his death was stated in his autopsy reports as toxic effect of chloroethane. The death was ruled as an accident. Campbell reportedly suffocated to death after inhaling the toxic ethyl chloride.

How toxic is Chloroethane?
Chloroethane or ethyl chloride was used as an inhalant street drug during the 1980s. It became a popular drug because of the stimulatory effect it produced. Short-term inhalations of the drug can cause euphoria, hallucinosis, narcosis, confusion, dizziness, impairment of short-term memory, and a few more. A higher dose of the drug can affect the central nervous system and result in severe depression. It may even cause damage to the liver and kidneys. Deaths have also been reported by inhalation of higher doses.
