'Rust' team reaches settlement with late Halyna Hutchins's husband to resume filming of Alec Baldwin-starrer movie in January next year
The producers of 'Rust', including actor Alec Baldwin, reached a settlement with Halyna Hutchins's husband for resuming the film's shooting in January next year.

After the tragic death of Hutchins on the movie's set, actor Alec has always said that he never pulled the trigger of the gun, which the makers used as a prop. Besides, the actor has always stressed the claims that the prop managers and stunt handlers working on the set should have made sure that the gun was in a "cold" state. In September, Mary Carmack-Altwies, the district attorney of Santa Fe, stated that she was "certainly looking" at all the homicide statutes under New Mexico criminal law and was "ready" to file charges. But the office of Santa Fe Sherrif has not yet charged anybody for the death of Hutchins.

Mathew Hutchins, Halyna's husband, stated that they have "reached a settlement" for their "wrongful death case" against the movie's producers, including Rust Movie Productions and Alec Baldwin. Reportedly, if the court approves the settlement, Mathew's case will stand "dismissed." Mathew also stated that the filming of "Rust" will resume in January 2023, with all the principal players on board.
