The damage to the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines was caused by deliberate measures, according to European leaders, but they withheld further information regarding the findings of any potential investigations.
Mette Frederiksen, the Prime Minister of Denmark, and Magdalena Andersson, the interim Prime Minister of Sweden, both indicated that they should not rule out sabotage.
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, dismissed any notion that the incident near Denmark may have been orchestrated by his administration.
He said that giving voice to these kinds of narratives is pretty expected and predictably 'dumb and ludicrous.'
Mr. Peskov stated that it needed to be looked into and added that it was unclear when the damaged pipelines would need to be repaired.
