What happened at the Palace reception?

Ngozi Fulani, representing her charity, was among the guests. However, a former Lady-in-waiting of the late Queen, Lady Hussey, whose role is to help in Palace events, allegedly questioned Fulani on her background. At the event, Lady Hussey challenged Ngozi to identify her background and questioned her British nationality. She (Lady Hussey) allegedly even moved her (Ngozi's) hair to read the name on the identity badge.

Social media statement

On Instagram, a statement on the charity's page said that they are forced to temporarily suspend many of its services over safety issues concerning their users and team members. Earlier this week, Fulani said she had suffered "horrific abuse" on social media following the incident.

Royal apology

Buckingham Palace authorities regretted the incident and re-confirmed their commitment to diversity and inclusivity policies.
