Royal Mint introduces unique coin featuring King Charles III
The rare coins featuring King Charles III will be part of the Royal Mint's Harry Potter series.

However, now The Harry Potter collection will be known for its uniqueness whose pictures will vary throughout the series. It started with depicting the change in the British Monarchy.
While Her late Majesty's image will appear on the first two coins in the set, King Charles III's image will appear on the last two coins. These coins are extremely collectible since it is quite uncommon for the portrait to change throughout the series.
Prices start at £11 for a magnificent uncirculated coin with a 50p denomination and go up to £5,215 for a 2oz coin with a 200-pound gold proof.
For the first time ever on official UK coins, the Royal Mint has recreated Jim Kay's artwork in color. Numerous coins in the collection also include a captivating "latent feature" that a lightning bolt and the number 25 to commemorate the anniversary year.
The Royal Mint's Ffion Gwillim modeled all four coins, which include the work of Jim Kay, the illustrator who produced the first fully illustrated version of this Harry Potter novel, and are available in a variety of values, including a 50p.
Rebecca Morgan, the Royal Mint's director of collector services, stated, "The Royal Mint’s Harry Potter collection presents a unique opportunity for collectors and fans of Harry Potter across the world. A change in portrait makes this collection a highly sought after one. For 70 years, Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait has appeared on every official UK coin minted by The Royal Mint.
"This collection of coins serves as a permanent reminder of the fascinating transition from Britain’s longest reigning monarch to His Majesty the King’s first appearance on UK coins," she added.
