Royal Mail workers are on strike, causing letter and parcel delivery to be delayed. As a result, the prescribed deadlines for mailing Christmas messages have been pushed forward.

Royal Mail has told customers that postal employees’ strike over wages, job security, and working conditions will "impact services," and that the walkouts are "expected to cause you some disruption" in the run-up to Christmas.
Members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) responsible for collecting, sorting and delivering letters and parcels downed tools on several occasions in recent months, including on December 1, 9, and 11, and will do so again on Wednesday and Thursday, as well as on Friday 23, and Saturday 24, putting Christmas deliveries in trouble.
The Royal Mail said in an update on the continuing negotiations with the CWU, "Following several months of conversations between Royal Mail and Communication Workers Union, including ACAS mediation, Royal Mail has shared a last offer for pay and change".

Royal Mail stated on its website, "We have well-developed contingency preparations in place, but we cannot entirely replace all the daily efforts of our frontline personnel". "We will do everything we can to keep services functioning, but we apologise if this scheduled strike action causes any inconvenience". Royal Mail further stated, "Items posted the day before, during, or in the days following any strike action will be subject to delay". “ We will provide further information about the delays".
It has recommended consumers to submit their products as soon as possible before the strike dates and to continue leaving their items in post boxes and at Post Offices, with the proviso that fewer pickups would be made due to the strikes.
