Queen Elizabeth's health has been a significant bone of contention in the monarch's various social engagements. Now the Queen has cancelled her traditional welcome at Balmoral Castle. Instead, there would be a small, private gathering. The cancellation is reportedly due to her ill health and tiredness. On July 21, the Queen visited Scotland and stayed at her Balmoral estate's Craigowan Lodge.

The Queen always plans to attend the royal welcome at Balmoral Castle. Even the Queen appreciates the opportunity to speak with locals who come up to the palace to welcome her. Due to the Queen's exhaustion, the ceremony would not take place as it usually does this year. The event was originally scheduled for today.

This cancellation is the first time, except for the pandemic, when the Queen will not participate in the welcoming ceremony outside the gates of Balmoral Castle due to her mobility issues.

Earlier in June this year, the 96-year-old Queen, celebrated her platinum jubilee. However, since then, she has been forced to miss many social events due to her health.

Recently, the Queen also received the tragic news that Lady Myra Butter, her swimming partner, had passed away. According to reports, the Queen, who was close to the Prince, is mourning the loss of her best friend. On July 29 this, Lady Myra Butter quietly died away at the age of 97.

Balmoral Castle has a special place in the Royal Family’s properties. It was reportedly built in the 1390s, in 1852, when the British Royal Family purchased the castle. In 1852, Prince Albert bought the castle as a gift for his wife, Queen Victoria. The design of the castle is both Scottish and baronial. The castle was expanded after its acquisition, and the new construction was completed in 1856. Presently, there are a total of 15 buildings on the Balmoral estate that stretch for 50,000 acres. Prince Charles and Lady Diana honeymooned on the estate, and their children also discovered their mother’s death when they were staying at the estate.
