PSG vs Monaco: Neymar's penalty earns solitary point for French league champions

Paris Saint-German took it to a 1-1 draw at home to Monaco. Brazilian footballer Neymar's penalty point made PSG stuck to first place on the charts in the French League this Sunday.

The footballer grabbed and held Messi's pass down the left and cut through Guillermo Maripan, the central defender who tried to hold him with an outstretched leg. PSG's penalty request initially got waived, but later, the referee awarded the kick after a video review.

Before casually kicking the ball inside the left post, Neymar confused the goalkeeper Alexander Nuebel with his known staggered run-up. He diverted from the spot to save a point for PSG against Monaco. It was the Brazilian player's eighth goal in five games and a sixth one in the league.


PSG has notched up ten points and leads ahead on goal difference from Marseille and Lens.

Monaco tried its luck several times but closed down PSG early, refusing space to the well-known trio of Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe, and gained the lead in the 20th.
German striker Kevin Volland received a pass from midfielder Aleksandr Golovin and stroked a low shot towards the bottom right.

Under new Coach Christophe Galtier, PSG's got seventeen league goals in three previous games but could not strike the target until Kylian Mbappe's kick in the 37th.


In the first-half injury time, PSG struck the post twice with Messi's swerved shot from twenty miles rebounding to Mbappe, who hit the right post's base.

At the beginning of the second half, Marquinhos accepted an awkward corner. A few minutes later, when Gianluigi Donnarumma left off his line, Wissam Ben Yedder, Monaco striker, headed with a lob for 12th-place positioned Monaco.

In the 59th, Nuebel made an excellent stop to deny Neymar but was smoothly defeated on his penalty. PSG seemed frustrated for not grabbing all three points considering their chances, while Monaco would be seemingly happy to escape the capital with a draw.
