A series of letters and postcards written by Princess Diana will be auctioned later this month. It reveals many facts about her personal life.

This series of correspondence between Diana and Maud Pendrey who is a former housekeeper at the Spencer family home at Althorp in Northamptonshire is seen to be revealing the princess’ humanity.
What are the letters that will be revealed?
One of the handwritten notes in blank ink on a royal letterhead which is dated September 8, 1982, mentions the success of her honeymoon with Prince Charles.Describing the birth of her first son William, Diana described herself as an “extremely proud and lucky mother” in another letter. She described that Prince William had brought them immense happiness.
A September 1982 note on a Balmoral Castle letterhead thanks the employees for their gift to Prince William. She describes them as having “spoilt” the eldest son and something which he doesn’t deserve. The letter is signed and concludes with “Take great care& much love from us all, Diana”.
Yet another 2-page letter written on July 13, 1983, includes some playful comments and some quirky observations. She describes the helicopter taking off from Althorp and wonders whether they could see her waving from the top.
A 1992 card with photos of Prince William and Prince Harry spoke volumes and concluded with the Princess extending best wishes on the occasion of Christmas and New Year.
All the letters are signed by Princess Diana and are handwritten by her.
