Princess Diana's death: Prince Harry stirs up a hornet’s nest, claims 'a lot left unexplained'

In a recent interview about his memoir ‘Spare’, Prince Harry has claimed that "there's a lot of things that are unexplained" about the accident that led to his mother Princess Diana's death. She had died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

The royal, who was speaking to ITV, also said that there is also no point in reopening inquiries into the incident.

Harry told Bradby that there are a lot of things that are unexplained. He has been asked before whether he wants to open up another inquiry. He said that he doesn't really see the point at this stage.


The Prince has also raised questions like why Princess Diana’s driver lost control of the Mercedes, in which she was traveling on the fateful night 26 years ago. Mohamed Fayed’s son Dodi, who was dating Diana at that time, had also died in the crash.



After the incident happened in the Alma tunnel, several conspiracy theories came up. In one, it was alleged that Prince Philip seemed to have ordered the security services to assassinate the couple.

In the book ‘Spare’ scheduled to be officially released on January 10, 2023, the Prince revealed that he had also asked to be driven at the same speed through the same tunnel in 2007 as there were so many questions that were unanswered, especially from the inquest. He thinks that it was “almost physically impossible to lose control of a vehicle unless you are completely blinded at the wheel”.

The Duke of Sussex, who was speaking to ITV’s Tom Bradby for ‘Prince Harry: The Interview’, has also revealed that he has also seen the pictures from the official police report of the case at his request.

Prince Harry has also said that he believed that if the mediapersons had not been following his mother’s car, the “end result” would not have occurred.
