Susan Hessey, one of the Queen’s most trusted advisors and lady-in-waiting, got into trouble after making inappropriate comments at the reception hosted by Queen Consort Camilia. It is reported that Susan kept asking Ngozi Fulani about where the people donating to her charity came from and made several unacceptable remarks about domestic violence. After the regrettable comments, Buckingham Palace issued a notice that Susan had immediately stepped down from her honorary role. Lady Susan was called the ‘No. 1 Head Girl in the Queen’s office. After being appointed as the Women of the Bedchamber, Susan and the Queen became friends in 1960. Lady Susan is also one of the godmothers of the Duke of Cambridge. After the incident with Susan, Buckingham Palace reminded all the household members to follow the principles of diversity and inclusivity at all times.
