King Charles III wanted to see his eldest son begins his life after marriage in grand style. A vast estate of about 900 acres was acquired in Herefordshire, and Charles had planned to redevelop the place in royal grandeur. However, the scheme got halted as Prince William was not ready then to move in.

A grand Estate that never took off

The Herefordshire Council cleared the project in November 2004, which was designed initially as a Georgian-style mansion by architect Craig Hamilton. However, for some unknown reason, Charles decided to halt the project at that time. Meanwhile, in 2007, Charles again activated the project but this time on a scaled-down version comprising a six-bedroom mini-mansion.
