Prince George, 9, is the eldest child of William and Kate Middleton, the newly-crowned Prince and Princess of Wales. The seven-year-old Princess is the royal couple's only daughter.

The decision to include George and Charlotte came late on their parents' insistence, as William and Kate wanted them to be a part of the historic moment.

The royal procession was led by King Charles III, the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II. The ruler of the British monarchy appeared to be in an emotional state as he walked with his beloved mother for the last time. However, the youngest child of William and Kate, Prince Louis, 4, was not present for the procession, as his mother confirmed that the young prince was "struggling to understand." Prince Harry and his wife, Princess Meghan, were also in the royal procession.

Two thousand dignitaries joined the royal family for the funeral service before being buried at St. George Chapel at Windsor Castle, the usual burying place of the royal family.

Global media personnel was present at the funeral to cover the live telecast of the Queen's funeral. Many expect the live coverage of the funeral service to be the most-watched live broadcast ever. The security operations in place for the Queen's funeral procession and service are the biggest in British history, surpassing the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations and the London Olympics of 2012.
