Prince Edward and Princess Anne to become stand-ins for King. Details here
King Charles III has initiated the process of enlarging the number of royals who may perform official tasks in the monarch's absence, suggesting Princess Anne and Prince Edward as new members.

On Monday, the House of Lords heard the King's official request for the alteration, which named Princess Anne, Princess Royal, and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex as supplementary replacements. The Counsellors of State Bill, which makes this possible, was brought before peers on Tuesday. This hurried move in Parliament is intended to resolve an awkward constitutional issue regarding who could deputize for the King if he was unable to perform his duties as head of state.
At the moment, two of the five eligible counselors are effectively ruled out. Prince Andrew, The Duke of York resigned from royal responsibilities following his involvement with US sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein. Prince Harry, lives in the United States with his family and has retired from royal duties.
Instead of eliminating them from the list of state counselors, the suggestion is to expand the pool of eligible royals, removing the availability of Prince Andrew and Prince Harry.
