Power cuts in UK: Thousands of homes affected in South East England, experts warn of up to four inches of snow
Several households in South East England faced power cuts that were localized and unrelated to each other.

The blackout hit several homes across Sussex, Kent, Essex, London, and Surrey.
In the Surrey region, UK Power Networks reported power issues in towns like Chobham, Walton, Guildford, and Chertsey, but other areas were also affected. These power cuts come as the country is set to be hit by a -10 Arctic freeze and snow.

Experts asked households to brace themselves for the power cuts and warned that up to four inches of snow could fall within days.
In the Surrey region only, 28 postcodes and more than 250 houses were left with no power. The UK Power Networks noted that this disruption occurred because "an underground electricity cable has faulted on our high voltage network, causing an area-wide power cut."
UK Power Networks stated on Twitter that the underground cable fault affects more than 2,684 properties. They had dispatched engineers to the affected area to assess the damage and were waiting for a timescale from the engineers.
They also provided extra assistance and issued a helpline number, 0800 31 63 105, for people to call for help.
The outage has hit several regions that will strike a maximum of 3°C, thus causing a lot of worry for people due to the cold weather and snowfall.
