Northern Territory police officers have charged Matt Wright for the death of his friend and colleague Chris Wilson. The charges include the following:

• Trying to prevent the course of justice


• False declaration

• Accosting witnesses and making two unlawful entries

The incident happened when Chris Wilson, 34, was dangling on a harness from a helicopter collecting crocodile eggs on Arnhem Island. The plan was to pick up crocodile eggs and carry them to swampy areas so that they could be harvested. Chris lost his life when the rotor blades collided with a tree, and the helicopter soon fell to the ground. Chris's body was found 40 meters from the crash site, and the pilot Sebastian Robinson was grievously injured. The show is about video recording dangerous animals and their life cycles and habitats and broadcasting the footage. Two other people are currently under custody of the police for the same investigation.

Matt Wright was granted bail when he presented himself to the police station and he would come directly to the court on Tuesday.
