The Office of Communications in the UK or popularly known as Ofcom launched an investigation into Broadcaster 4 after the channel had failed to beep out harsh language from Gordon Ramsay's show "Kitchen Nightmares USA". The broadcast aired before the watershed at 4 PM. Ofcom stated that it was a violation of its broadcasting guidelines. Television chef Gordon Ramsay uttered expletives in "Kitchen Nightmares USA", which was aired on E4 Extra.

The show, which follows Gordon as he travels around the United States to improve faltering restaurants, has long been a fan favourite. However, changes only occur with arrogant owners, underpaid employees, and harsh management.
Gordon is so enraged by the people in the restaurants that he frequently goes on a swearing spree.

They stated that they mixed up the restricted and uncensored versions by mistake and that they would implement safeguards to guarantee that this does not happen again.
