Nottinghamshire’s Fairisle Close flat fire: After two children, mother also dies

After fire was reported at a flat in Nottinghamshire’s Fairisle Close, in the wee hours of Sunday, Naeemah Drammeh, one, and her three-year-old sister Fatimah were rushed to Queen’s Medical Centre with their mother. At the hospital, the sisters were confirmed dead. On Tuesday morning, Fatoumatta Hydara, who had been placed on life support, died.

The father was not at home at the time of the incident. Becky Johnson, Sky’s Midlands correspondent, said that after hearing the terrible news, he boarded an aircraft as fast as possible to return. It’s profoundly sad that he has to cope with losing his two young daughters and wife. A triple murder probe is under investigation.

On Sunday night, a 31-year-old male from Clifton was detained on suspicion of murder. Detectives have been allowed additional time to interview him, and he is still being held. Mark Sinski, the detective chief, said a vast team of investigators had worked hard days and nights to explore the facts surrounding this unfortunate tragedy.




The police said heightened patrols in the region would continue in the following days. The police are urging anybody with information or who was around Fairisle Close between 12 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. to contact them.
