The UK subsidiary of Norse Atlantic Airways will be offering point-to-point flights between the UK and the US at cheap rates. The flights will originate from Gatwick, West Sussex, towards various destinations in the United States. As per media reports, Norse Atlantic has a proposed foreign air carrier permit from the Department of Transportation (DOT).

The US air carrier started flights between Gatwick and New York in August, with return trips starting as low as £255. However, Norse Atlantic had to connect every flight via Norway due to aviation regulations. The recently acquired authorization from the US DOT will allow the air carrier to fly between the UK and the US without connecting with Norway. Eliminating the Norway connection will help Norse Atlantic expand its route network.
