NHS 'Winter War Rooms' launched to manage on-going pressure on hospitals
NHS launches winter war rooms to tackle emergency healthcare needs and ease pressure on hospitals. As the future is expected to be a little difficult, winter wars may help in easing out the pressure.

These NHS war rooms were initially announced in October as a fraction of a bigger winter plan. These centers will stay open all days of the week with full management during the day and on-call management during the night.
According to the NHS national medical director, Professor Sir Stephen Powis, these control centers will be locally managed and are just one fraction of their extensive winter preparation. They have readied the teams across England in under six weeks after the issuance of national guidance. These teams are working 24*7 on information and feedback from frontline services. They are constantly aiding in spreading the resources, monitoring and responding to the situations, and making ideal decisions for patients and staff.
The decision of opening NHS winter war rooms was made in the light of events of last winter when healthcare facilities faced significant pressure. The flu cases had gone up ten times and a considerable number of beds were occupied by patients who were fit for discharge. You can use the NHS services usually. Dial 999 for emergencies and 111 for other health concerns.
Other winter plans of NHS include hubs for respiratory infections for same-day out-of-hospital care for cases of pneumonia, flu, COVID, and acute bronchitis. The NHS director of policy and strategy, Miriam Deakin said that these control centers will help ease pressure on emergency care at crucial times. However, they will need the support of local healthcare partners.
