The Royal College of Nurses polled its 300,000 members in the National Health Service (NHS) for the first time in its 106-year existence, and a sizable portion of the nation voted to go on strike.
Given that the RCN survey was done at the service level, at least half of the hospitals' registered nurses will need to vote in favour of striking before Christmas.
Several of England's major hospitals, including Guys and St. Thomas in London, near the House of Commons, will be shut down due to strikes.
In Scotland and Northern Ireland, 100% of NHS employers met the minimum turnout requirement, while in Wales, 100% of NHS employers met the minimum turnout requirement.
Twelve NHS Trusts in the UK, twenty-three in Scotland, and eleven in Northern Ireland have decided to go on strike.

With the rise of new variants, the symptoms of COVID have also evolved. Initially, the NHS (National Health service) regarded a fever, cough, and loss or change in sense of smell or taste as the main symptoms which could indicate COVID infection. COVID can affect the skin in a variety of ways. Some people may experience a widespread maculopapular rash (flat or raised areas of discoloured skin), while others might present with hives (raised areas of itchy skin). Most COVID skin lesions tend to go away after a few days, or in some instances a few weeks, without the need for any specialised treatment.

We don't understand exactly what causes these symptoms, but we know the most important part is played by a process called inflammation. Inflammation is our body's natural defence mechanism against pathogens; SARS-CoV-2 in this case. It involves the production of "cytokines" – proteins which are important in controlling the activity of immune cells.

Seeing that public opinion is shifting in favour of the strike, the world's most potent nursing trade union and professional organisation will now persuade legislators to support strikes by nurses in their various districts.
It's understood that not all hospital nurses will take action since conditions vary throughout the country. Since the RCN voting was held in individual hospitals, each trust must achieve a 50% participation rate.
