Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been identified as one of the leading candidates to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.

After it was revealed that the 32-year-old actor had participated in a screen test, he unexpectedly became the frontrunner to play the leading role in the self-titled film franchise. He is not as well-known as other actors who have been rumoured to play the role, such as James Norton, Tom Hardy, and Idris Elba.

His acting resume is by no means lacking, having been in ‘Godzilla’, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, and the ‘Kick-Ass’ movies. He starred in the 2009 film ‘Nowhere Boy’, a biopic about John Lennon and went on to marry the film's director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, 55.

Aaron apparently won over Bond director Barbara Broccoli during his trial, which took place at Pinewood Studios.
