Netflix has announced the global release date for its new British erotic thriller miniseries, “Obsession”. The show will be available for streaming worldwide starting April 13, 2023. The show’s plot revolves around a London surgeon’s steamy affair with his son’s fiancée, leading to an obsession that threatens to change their lives forever.

The miniseries is directed by Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa, and the scripts are written by Morgan Lloyd-Malcolm and Benji Walters. The executive producers of the show are Moonage Pictures’ Matthew Read, Frith Tiplady, and Gaumont’s Alison Jackson, while Gina Carter produces the series.

“Obsession” is adapted from Josephine Hart’s novel of the same name, which was previously made into a live-action feature film by Warner Bros. in 1992. The miniseries is expected to have three or four hour-long episodes, making the entire runtime similar to a long theatrical movie. The show was filmed in London between April and June 2022.

The series stars Richard Armitage as William, a doctor who falls for his son’s fiancée, Anna, played by Charlie Murphy. Anna is already engaged to William’s son Martyn, and she tries to keep both relationships alive, but it is inevitable that the truth will come out, and someone is going to get hurt. Meanwhile, William is drawn into an obsessive spiral that his wife, Ingrid, played by Indira Varma, is unaware of.

Other actors in the show include Rish Shah, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Celine Arden, Isla Jackson-Ritchie, Gregg Barnett, Francesca Knight, Letty Thomas, Victor Pontecorvo, Kerim Hassan, and Sonera Angel.

In March 2022, the upcoming miniseries was first announced at a Netflix UK event in London. The show is produced by Gaumont UK and Moonage Pictures.
