Naga Munchetty forced to leave Friday’s BBC Breakfast mid-show. Here's why
Naga Munchetty struggled with her voice for 20 minutes, and the viewers found it difficult to hear what she said. She exited mid-show, and Charlie was left to explain where she had gone.

From the very beginning of Friday’s show, Naga sounded a bit off with a sore throat, after which she stepped down for the day. Charlie said he wasn’t sure what would happen next after Naga left the sofa. Viewers commented that hearing what Naga was saying in the first 20 minutes was difficult. A viewer also suggested that Naga needed a Strepsil.
However, most of the viewers were concerned and wished the popular host a speedy recovery. Naga’s mid-show exit was unexpected for the producers as correspondents continued to greet Charlie and Naga even after the latter left. Whether or not Naga would return to Friday’s show remained unclear.
Naga Munchetty has been a regular presenter for the BBC Breakfast show since 2014, while Charlie Stayt has been on the show since 2008. The show itself has been in continuous production since October 2000. The show airs every day, except Sunday, on BBC One and the BBC News channel between 6 am and 9 am. Naga and Charlie host the show from Thursday to Saturday, while Jon Kay and Sally Nugent helm BBC Breakfast from Monday to Wednesday.
