Mystic Meg took her last breath at 3:45 am on Thursday morning. Margaret Ann Lake, also known as Mystic Meg died of Influenza, a month after she was admitted to the hospital due to the flu.

The news of the sudden demise of Mystic Meg has shaken everyone and people from across the world are paying their tributes to her. The majority of the notable tributes are from her colleagues and agent.

Dave Shapland, her agent aged 34 years told the Sun that without any question, “she was Britain’s most famous astrologer by a million miles”.

Who was Mystic Meg?

Born on 27 July 1942 in Accrington, Lancashire, Margaret Ann Lake or Mystic Meg was one of the greatest astrologers of all time. She has given almost 23 years of her life to the Sun by writing daily horoscopes for the readers. However, Meg didn’t begin her journey with astrology. She pursued a teacher’s diploma from the University of Leeds but she never opted to teach as her career. Instead, she worked as a sub-editor with a women’s magazine.

She has written erotic stories and served as a journalist at the News of the World Magazine which has shut now. In 1989, Meg began reading horoscopes on phone-line and soon became the talk of the town. Later, in the 1990s, she was invited to the National Lottery TV show where she made her appearance on the stage with her crystal ball to predict the winner of the weekly jackpot.

During her practice of astrology, she also worked with runes, crystal balls, I Ching, tarot and numerology.

Meg also became the prey of critics when she predicted the loss of Manchester United to Everton in the FA Cup final in 1995. After her prediction, Meg received a plethora of correspondence from angry fans of Manchester United.
