Mrs Brown's Boys star Brendan O'Carroll reveals he was 'on edge of breakdown' after huge financial loss
Brendan O'Carroll, the creator and actor of Mrs Brown's Boys on BBC One, has spoken out about incurring a significant financial loss on a film he had written before becoming well-known for his comedy.

After funding for the movie, named Sparrows, was cancelled, Brendan O'Carroll found himself in a dire financial situation. His financial troubles coincided with the year he divorced Doreen Dowdall, his first wife.
Brendan recalled his struggles with mental health during a trying time in his life.
Brendan continued by saying that he hadn't switched on the lights or opened the curtains in his house for at least three days. The TV personality also "picked at food" and ate very little during that time.
The comedian, however, admitted that a dream about his late mother, Maureen, helped him get through a difficult period in his life.
The actor continued, saying he felt amazing when he woke up.
Businessman Denis Desmond got in touch with Brendan soon after his dream and gave him the chance to turn the Mrs Brown's Boys radio show into a stage performance.
Before BBC producer Stephen McCrum saw it, Brendan claims his former radio show was "reborn" and became a massive hit with crowds at the Glasgow Pavilion.
The Mrs Brown's Boys star announced the sitcom's comeback for a new series in August this year, and filming is set to begin this month.
