Fontanka, on November 8, reported that the Frunzensky district's military registration and enlistment office had sent a summons to a “missing” sailor from Russia’s Moskva cruiser that sunk in April 2022. The summons was sent after the ship was submerged. The missing sailor, identified as Srochnik, was serving as a cook on the sunken ship. But his family and friends have not heard anything about him for half a year since the incident with the cruiser which took place amid the Ukraine war.
Notably, Srochnik was a ship's cook on the cruiser and had left for military service less than a year ago. After the ship sank in April 2022, he was considered missing. According to the newspaper Fontanka, the summons arrived on the birthday of the sailor. In the documents, the sailor has been asked to appear in order to clarify military registration documents for mobilization.
Meanwhile, Srochnik’s mother has described the situation as "confusion." And the sailor's relatives still believe that he is not dead.
