Melisa Raouf, a 20-year-old Londoner, has set a big record! Melisa Raouf is the first contender in the history of the Miss England pageant to walk down the ramp without wearing make-up.

The Britisher caught the attention of the world by becoming the first competitor in the 94-year history of the beauty pageant to compete without a make-up to support natural beauty.

Melisa Raouf, who is a political science student, stated that she wants to inspire other women and young girls to showcase their inherent beauty. On Monday, August 22, Melisa made a bold move that won over the judges, advancing her to the final round of competition. On the last day of the competition, she will forego cosmetics once more as she competes for the prestigious Miss England crown.

Melisa also triumphed in the 2019 edition of the "Bare Face" round in the competition. Angie Beasley, the event's organiser, stated the same thing while discussing it. She said that it empowers women to show us who they actually are without having to hide behind cosmetics and filters on social media.

Beasley further said that this was the first time she had seen any contestant go totally makeup-free and compete in a semi-final.

What does Melisa say about it?

Melisa claimed she felt more confident in competing against all the other contenders.

Melisa stated that the experience of getting so far into the finals was quite a daunting experience and that it felt amazing to win this way. She commented that this meant a lot to her since she feels that many girls of various age groups wear make-up just because they feel that they should be doing so.

Melisa believes that no one should be forced to wear cosmetics if they are content with their own skin. Every person is unique because of their shortcomings, which define who they are as people.

On October 17, Melisa will compete for the Miss England title alongside 40 other ladies. Melisa has become a household name thanks to netizens' praise of her courageous decision to champion natural beauty.
