Michelle Keegan announces new Netflix role, says ‘I'm over the moon’

Michelle Keegan has made a brand-new professional announcement. The former Coronation Street actress, who portrayed Tina McIntyre for six years, has announced she is embarking on a brand-new TV project, in which, she will play a completely different part from any that her fans have ever seen her in.

When her character died in the ITV serial opera in 2014, Michelle moved on to portray Sergeant Georgie Lane in the BBC drama Our Girl and continues to play Erin Croft in the popular Sky Comedy Brassic.

But now that she is ready to feature in a new Netflix thriller series. The Stockport-born actress, who is married to former TOWIE star Mark Wright, has announced that her audience will see her in an entirely different way.


She informed her 6.4 million Instagram followers that she would be joining the cast of ‘Fool Me Once’, the adaptation of best-selling author Harlan Coben's book, she let "the secrets out."

Based on his books, the author has created some of Netflix's most popular mystery dramas, including the blockbuster successes The Stranger, Remain Close, and Safe.

Michelle shared the information with her followers via a picture of herself by a poolside and holding the best-selling book, ‘Fool Me Once’. Another picture had an exclusive image of her filming in action and a sign that stated "Maya," the name of her role.

The 35-year-old’s friends, family, and admirers flocked to Michelle’s Instagram to offer their congratulations on her significant career shift. Rochelle Humes, a presenter for This Morning and a member of The Saturdays, wrote: "GO girl," and Made in Chelsea actor Louise Thompson replied: "Well done” along with heart emojis.

Mark Wright's mother Carol Wright replied, "Here we are so eager to see this little star, a great star," in response to his cousin Elliot Wright, who also appeared in TOWIE. Along with a flaming emoji and the words "Here we go!!!," Harlan Coben himself also added.
