Michael Parkinson appears on BBC Breakfast, recalls Meg Ryan interview

Talking about his upcoming book "My Sporting Life: Memories, Moments, and Declarations," Michael Parkinson recently made a rare appearance on BBC Breakfast. The 87-year-old veteran broadcaster has co-authored the book with his son, Michael Parkinson Junior. During his career, the veteran broadcaster interviewed over 2,000 celebrities, including Muhammed Ali, David Bowie, and Victoria Beckham.

However, he is equally known for his awkward encounters. In 2021, Parkinson apologised to actress Meg Ryan following an interview taken in 2003. Parkinson interviewed Ryan after the release of “The Cut”, a thriller by Jane Campion. The interview was so tense that Ryan eventually told Parkinson to "wrap it up."
