Meet Me at the Lake: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to produce film based on romantic bestseller
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are moving into film production, with reports that they have purchased the screen rights for a bestselling romantic novel.

The book in question is Carley Fortune’s 2023 romance novel titled Meet Me at the Lake, which is a bestseller. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose the book because it is based in Toronto (where Meghan lived) and kind of mirrors their own life.
What is Meet Me at the Lake about?
Meet Me at the Lake is a story about a couple who fall in love when they are well into their thirties. The eerie similarity is there in terms of both dealing with some childhood trauma, one of them having lost a parent in a car crash, as also other themes like postnatal depression.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been in the news recently for the wrong reasons, with their Spotify deal for podcasts going kaput and their Netflix deal in the doldrums.
After the royal couple’s company produced documentary films and both published books, their film production venture seems to be another effort to launch a career in the USA. Incidentally, Meet Me at the Lake has been published by Penguin Random House, who published the Prince Harry memoir Spare.
However, Deadline reports that the film will be a part of Harry and Meghan’s $ 100 million deal with Netflix.
