Matt Hancock loses Tory whip after joining reality TV show
Hancock joined the show after he was confirmed not to have a role in the government.

The former Health Secretary of the UK will reportedly join the reality show's cast in the Australian jungle. The Conservative Party’s Chief Whip, Simon Hart, stated that he decided to suspend Hancock’s whip following a discussion with him. Hart said that Hancock's joining the ITV show was serious enough to warrant a suspension.
However, those close to the MP said that his decision to join the reality show was a result of his disappointment at not getting a cabinet berth. Another Hancock supporter said that since the former minister was not expecting any role in the new government, being on a popular show like I’m A Celeb... was a great opportunity for him.
The supporters also claimed that over 12 million Brits watched the show every night, which was a huge engagement opportunity for Hancock. The Telegraph report also quoted an associate mentioning that the West Suffolk MP would be using his time on the show to promote his dyslexia campaign.
