Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag to "deal with" Cristiano Ronaldo over exit down the tunnel before final whistle

During Manchester City’s 6-3 destruction of city rivals Manchester United, two players scored hat tricks but one of them - Erling Haaland’s - was routine for the player and for the fans.

Sunday’s hattrick was the Norwegian phenom’s third in the Premier League - the same number as Cristiano Ronaldo - and puts him on 14 goals for the season. Here are all the records he’s broken since joining Pep Guardiola’s team in the August transfer window.

City’s newest number nine has scored 11 goals in his first seven league appearances, breaking a record from December 1992, set by Mick Quinn. He also shares the record for most goals in his first 10 league games with Quinn, Papiss Cisse and Diego Costa - with three games to spare.

Haaland has scored in all of his first four away games, defeating West Ham, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Wolves in the process.

Against Sevilla, in the Champions League, Haaland scored a brace to become the first player to score multiple times on his Champions League debut for three different clubs.

In the process of breaking one record, Haaland usually breaks a few more for good measure, scoring 25 goals in just 20 Champions League matches, smashing the previous record of 16 in 20, set by Ruud van Nistelrooy and Roberto Soldado.

At 22, the Norwegian star is the youngest player to score 25 goals in the competition, beating the record of Kylian Mbappe.

The former Dortmund player also has the record for fewest Champions League games needed to score 10, 15 and 20 goals.

Haaland is also the first City player to score on both his Premier League debut and Champions League debut for the club.
