Manchester United added another new director – Patrick Stewart, a well-known lawyer to their PLC board of directors. Manchester United announced their new appointment on Thursday, December 22. Stewart has been a long-time United employee. Over the past sixteen years, he has served as general counsel and chief legal officer.
Stewart, a 1997 attorney who holds degrees from the Universities of Glasgow and Mainz in Germany, worked for two prestigious UK commercial law firms before beginning his career at Old Trafford. He is responsible for overseeing the legal and regulatory aspects of Old Trafford. The appointment follows the Glazers declaration last month that they were looking into potential new financial avenues for the team, some of which would involve a complete sale.
Stewart is also in charge of creating, building, and maintaining connections with significant figures in the football industry. Old Trafford has undergone a lot of changes this season, including the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as manager and the employment of Erik ten Hag as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent replacement. Six players were added during his first transfer window, and the squad's rebuild would continue the following month.

Whereas, Richard Arnold was given the responsibility of succeeding Ed Woodward as the club's CEO. Arnold joined United in 2006, serving as group managing director and leading their commercial team. Despite the fact that Patrick is gifted in many areas, he was chosen this time to serve on the board of directors for one of the largest football clubs in the world. But at Manchester United, where the news of Patrick joining the team provoked discord among the players, things aren't exactly looking up.
