Man who posed as woman to abduct schoolgirl receives 20-year prison sentence

In a disturbing instance, a man called Andrew Miller, who also went by the name Amy George, while masquerading as a woman, was sentenced to 20 years in jail for kidnapping a young schoolgirl and sexually assaulting her in his Borders home. Miller, acting as Amy George, offered the youngster a ride home in February of this year. Instead, he took her to his home and kept her for an excruciating 27 hours, subjecting her to sexual assault.

Miller will also be subjected to an eight-year monitoring period in addition to his prison sentence. Lord Arthurson, the presiding judge, described the crime's story as "nauseating in terms of its depravity and criminal behavior."

He further highlighted the rarity and the extreme harm caused by the abduction of children for such purposes in our society.


Lord Arthurson strongly condemned Miller's actions, characterizing them as "wicked and predatory." He underscored the immeasurable suffering experienced by the victim, her family, and the local community. Shockingly, Miller referred to the abduction as a "game" during his risk assessment.

The young victim, who was unfamiliar with Miller, managed to escape when he fell asleep. She promptly called 999, leading to her rescue by a team of nine police officers.

Miller was in the midst of transitioning to a female identity at the time of his arrest and wished to be addressed as Andrew Miller, using "he" pronouns for ease.

Due to the chilly weather, the girl accepted a ride from what she mistook for a lady. However, she was taken to Miller's home, where she endured repeated assaults and was exposed to distressing content on television.

Despite her repeated pleas to be allowed to return home, Miller callously refused, asserting that she was now part of his new family.

The girl's bravery and fast thinking enabled her to flee when Miller fell asleep, prompting her to shout for aid.

When the cops came, they located Miller still sleeping and disguised as a woman. The young kid was brought to a neighboring hospital for treatment. Miller confessed to the allegations brought against him, which included kidnapping, sexual assault, possession of indecent photos of minors, and knowingly exposing a child under the age of 13 to a sexual image.

Miller will serve his term in a male jail under new restrictions for transgender convicts convicted of sexual assaults. These guidelines were introduced following a public outcry over the Isla Bryson case, where a trans woman, previously known as Adam Graham, was initially placed in a female prison after being convicted of rape.
