Major heavy vehicles crash leads to closure of A9 near Carrbridge

A9 is the road in Scotland near Carrbridge, and it runs from Edinburgh to Inverness, which was closed in both directions after the serious clash of heavy vehicles on Friday, September 30. Emergency assistance raced around 4:15 am after the alarm was raised at the busy road of A9 at the Slochd Summit, near the Carrbridge junction, due to the collision of two HGVs.

The road between Carrbridge and Inverness was closed by officers after the crash, and there are still Emergency services by the Blackmount junction.

Diversions are placed on this route due to stacked-up traffic, so Motorists have been advised to keep away from the area to avoid the traffic. The diversion route consists of a weak bridge; thus, all the heavy vehicles and Lorries are piled up on the closed route.





The officers are carrying out the collision enquiries; thus, the road is expected to remain closed and diverted for some time. There is no clear report so far of any injuries in the crash.

Spokesperson of the Scotland police said: “Area police were reported on September 30, 2022, on Friday Around 4.15 am of a HGVs serious crash on the A9 road, near the Carrbridge junction.

They also informed us that emergency services are currently at the scene, and the road between Carrbridge and Inverness is closed.
