In a massive change of rules, Friends and family of the upcoming batch of Islanders in the “Love Island” show will be banned from posting on their respective social media accounts during the show, newly announced rules of the series revealed.
If the rules are not followed accounts will be treated as dormant.
This decision was made because, in the past series, Islander’s teams used their social media accounts to make the viewers vote for them and also to increase their followers.
‘Love Island’ is also planning to crack down on misleading incidents such as Jacques O’Neil and Paige Thorne’s ill-fated love story that viewers found very uncomfortable to watch.
The new rules are also read as a part of their extended measures. It is presumed to protect both the islanders as well as their respective families from the negative effects of social media. During the duration of their time on the show, the participants will be asked to pause their social media handles and accounts.
