Before the funeral on Monday, mourners were seen queuing up on the last full day of the queen’s lying in state (Sunday) to bid her final goodbye. The queue to see the Queen Elizabeth II's coffin is closed so as to give the mourners, who are already in line, the best chance to pay homage.

How transport authorities in London prepare to manage huge crowd?

One of the UK’s biggest transport operations will be carried out on Monday as mourners come down to London for the funeral. Transport for London (TfL) is getting ready to handle around one million people visiting the capital on Monday.

As part of the preparation, around 250 additional rail services will be provided, including a few overnight trains. Moreover, the planned motorway closures throughout England were suspended by National Highways. It’s feared that if too many people, who are visiting the capital start travelling home right after the funeral procession leaves Westminster just after noon, the transport network will become overwhelmed.

Prepare for the weather: Met Office issues warning

The Met Office has issued a warning to mourners considering visiting London for the Queen's funeral on Monday that they can expect "chilly nights". So, the office asked them to come prepared for the weather.

One minute of silence to mourn on Sunday

Many public members were waiting in the queue opposite St. Paul’s Cathedral in the early hours of Sunday morning. And ahead of the state funeral at Westminster Abbey, the late monarch will be lying in state until 6:30 am on Monday at Westminster Hall. And to mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II, a nationwide minute’s silence will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday. People are asked to mark the event privately at home, on the street, on their doorstep, or at community events.
