The tragic death of Queen Elizabeth II has dismayed entire Britain, and various cultural events are now being rescheduled or canceled to pay respect to the Queen. The preparation for the funeral plan or Operation London Bridge is underway. The death of Queen Elizabeth II also means there will be national mourning for the next 10 days starting Friday. This means the closure of schools and pubs will happen. There will also be an impact on significant events like London Fashion Week.

How will Queen Elizabeth's death impact London Fashion Week?
The London Fashion Week is scheduled to happen from September 15 to 19, but unfortunately, the event falls during the 10 days of national mourning. The city has been preparing to host the most prominent fashion event for the past three years. The media primarily focuses on luxury fashion houses, including Richard Quinn, Burberry, and JW Anderson.


However, the British Fashion Council released an official statement on Thursday that the event would go as planned but would be curtailed, looking at the current situation. The council said that London Fashion is a B2B event that marks a significant period for the designers to show their unique collections at a particular time in the fashion calendar. Hence, the presentations of collections and the show can continue but advised the designers to look into the nation's mood and figure out the right timing for the release of their image.

The council has also suggested canceling or postponing any non-essential events, such as parties or store openings, to show respect to the Queen.

Burberry, the luxury fashion house, is the only one that has announced to cancellation of its show. As per the official spokesperson for Burberry, the Spring/Summer event 2023 has been canceled to pay tribute to the Queen. The show was scheduled to take place on September 17.
