Light Night Leeds 2022: Check dates, timings and key attractions of event

The streets of Leeds City Centre will be transformed into a playground to host Light Night Leeds 2022, happening on October 13 and October 14 from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. There will be over a thousand people with around 50 light installations, interactive artwork, and projects. The theme for the event in 2022 is "Playful City." This free event will serve lip-smacking street food while encouraging visitors' interactions with the city.

Highlights of Light Night Leeds 2022

The two-night event will cover Leeds Civic Hall, giving tribute to the 80’s video games; Leeds Art Gallery, decorated in colours and lights to the tunes of artists Akeelah Bertram and Adam Glatherine; and Leeds Playhouse. The projection of a virtual giant rollercoaster ride on The Queens Hotel will be one of the essential highlights of the festival. Outside Leeds city centre, there will be a historical light installation in the setting of Bramley Baths. Other areas include Millennium Square, Briggate, Headrow, Soyo-Quarry Hill, Victoria Station, Town Hall, Wellington Place, and South Bank.

   Yes, the roads remain closed to different streets at different times (5:30 PM to 11:30 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM) during the event. For the smooth operations of the event and visitors’ safety, a number of roads will be closed on both days.

   Apart from the street food of Millennium Square, Victoria Gardens, and Cookridge Street and a variety of worldwide cuisines, there will be many Leeds restaurants serving delicious delights.
