A Muslim man has been booked on charges of attempted murder for stabbing two police officers in central London.

One officer was stabbed in the arm, and the other in the neck and head.

The attacker's name is Mohammad Rahman, 24 years old. He attacked a male constable in the chest and neck on Friday at 6 am.


Mohammad Rahman is from the Notting Hill area, and the Metropolitan Police has charged him with six other offenses. He attacked a female police officer, stabbing her in her arm, and will face one count of causing bodily harm that is grievous.

The man is also charged with assaulting and threatening people in public with a blade.

He is also charged with robbery, possessing a blade. He will appear before the Wimbledon Magistrates' Court. The female officer was discharged from the hospital, and the male officer was still under supervision till Saturday. The officers carried out daily routines and were on policing duty at Westminister. However, the two were not a part of the more significant police operation after the Queen's death. After the incident, Sadiq Khan, London Mayor, said the incident is a reminder of the risk an officer takes when putting on a uniform.
