Lego announced a new addition to the Icons line of toy blocks with the Eiffel Tower. It has over 10,000 pieces to stack up. The product comes in double packages and, when stacked up, would reach a height of five feet.

The Eiffel Tower, known as “la dame de fer” (Iron Lady in French), is 330 meters (1083 feet) tall and is the tallest structure in Paris. Built by engineer Gustave Eiffel’s company from 1887 to 1889, the tower has been named after him.

The Lego toy is a fitting tribute to the tower and has a French flag donning the mantle, along with trusses and sections to keep the young engineers busy. The company looks to make huge sales in the Christmas season, and sales are expected to peak by then. The Lego stores are expected to begin selling it from November 25, well in time for a Christmas gift. The retail prices are US$ 629.99, CAN $ 799.99, and UK £554.99.

"I think it's really cool because it's really realistic," said one visitor, Lara Watson. "I like that it combines with the Eiffel Tower, so the piece of art becomes a piece of art because of the Eiffel Tower already behind it."
