At the age of 33, Gareth Bale, who was a part of several teams like Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Wales, etc, has announced his decision to retire from professional football.

Bale used to play at the position of forward and was a part of the squad of Wales for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. He also spent last season at Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer.

In his career, the Welshman has won five Champions League titles and La Liga three times while being a part of Real Madrid. The player is also considered one of greatest-ever football exports of Britain.


Describing the decision to quit football, Bale said that it was by far the hardest of his career.

On social media, Bale said, "After careful and thoughtful consideration, I announce my immediate retirement from club and international football. I feel incredibly fortunate to have realised my dream of playing the sport I love. It has truly given me some of the best moments of my life. The highest of highs over 17 seasons, that will be impossible to replicate, no matter what the next chapter has in store for me.”
