Miller and Carter's, which had boasted of the unique concept of a floating restaurant, is sinking, and photos of this occurrence have been shared by many. Locals remarked that it was sinking like the 'Titanic', referring to the international phenomenon of the unsinkable ship's sinking.

Some locals were saddened by this and posted about their cancelled Christmas meals. Simon Harris, the blogger, and owner of the parental blog 'Man Behaving Dadly', posted on Twitter that he was saddened about the plight of one of his favourite places to eat. And added that he hoped everyone had gotten off alright.

Some users had a hilarious take on this situation.

Dion 'Dino' Hargreaves posted on his Facebook wall that this must be the establishment's new section for an 'underwater' dining experience. While another diner, Ian Clow, posted a photo of the restaurant in a photo of Rose and Jack from 'Titanic' and mentioned in the caption that he could not believe that the eatery had hit an iceberg.

Robert Miller, another patron, commented that the public who visit Miller and Carter's must take along their wellies, referring to the wellington boots.
