Labour's Samantha Dixon wins Chester by-election, set back for Conservatives. Check complete results
Labour party won the Chester by-election easily, the first public vote after Boris Johnson and Liz Truss were booted out of Number 10.

Dixon told Sky News that the outcome was a sonorous mandate for the Labour Party, and claimed that the Tories were on borrowed time, and people wanted to change. She alleged that individuals in Chester and around the country are concerned about losing their houses because they can't afford the mortgage or rent and worried about whether they can feed their kids.
She went on to say that this is the price of 12 years of Conservative rule. The administration has wrecked our economy, ruined our public services, and misled those who voted for them in the previous general election.
Sky's top political journalist, Jon Craig, described it as a shattering setback for the Conservatives and an alarming sign for the party's chances in the next election. However, he stated that blaming the prime minister for the outcome would be unfair.
