King Charles's Coronation Concert: All you may want to know

King's Coronation is going to be a grand affair. Beginning with the coronation of the King on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London, a Coronation Concert will be held at Windsor Castle on May 7. It will be followed by a bank holiday on May 8.

The Plan

The concert at Windsor Castle will be a star-studded affair, featuring ‘musical icons and contemporary stars’. At the Coronation Concert, a world-class orchestra will play interpretations of musical favorites fronted by some of the biggest entertainers of the world, alongwith performers.

The celebration will also hold a selection of spoken word sequences delivered by stars of screen and stage. On the historic occasion, the performances will be supported by staging and effects located on the Castle’s East Lawn. Several locations in the UK will be lit up with lasers, projections, drone displays and lights.

Who will perform?

The Coronation Choir, a vocal group, comprising choir singers and amateur singers from all over the country, will perform at the event. These singers include ones from LGBTQ+ singing groups, NHS choirs, refugee choirs, deaf signing choirs, etc. The full line-up of the event will be confirmed later.

How to get tickets for the Coronation Concert?

A national ballot is being organized for giving away around 10,000 tickets for the Coronation Concert. The BBC will host it and the tickets will be given for free after the ballot.

In the ballot, there will be 5,000 pairs of tickets. It will open on Friday at 07:00 GMT and will close on February 28. In the ballot, each applicant will be able to nominate a guest.
